“The 2009 season was marked by a period of extreme heat in February. The heat accelerated the ripening and we ended up harvesting the grapes earlier than expected. The wine is a little atypical for the Harcourt Valley, showing darker fruit flavours and a fuller body.
The 2009 ANSTED&CO. North Harcourt Vineyard Syrah shows great intensity of dark fruit with complex warm spice aromas and quality french oak. The palate is full bodied with soft berry fruit and a long finish carried by fine tannins. It is a wine that can be enjoyed now but will gain added complexity over the next 5-7 years”
