Geographic Position: on the first foothills of the Pyrenees Atlantiques, in the heart of the Bearn, the land of Henry IV, at an altitude of 332m. The vines are planted on the hillside, facing the South, overlookoing the chain of the Pyrenees and the Pic du Midi d’Ossau.
Soil: Clay and flint specific to our terroir: the poudingues of Juranson.
Area: In production 2.5 hectares.
Grape Varieties: 100% Petit Manseng.
Cropping Techniques: Traditional ploughing. The vines have been under biodynamic management since 1994. Nothing detracts from the authenticity of the terroir, no herbicides or pesticides. The work of the human hand finds its true expression. Nettles,horesetails,columbines and chamomile stand guard…
Harvest: manual in successive pssages. In certain years it can take over one month.
Vinification: grapes pressed within the hour following picking, no destemming. Fermentation and ageing in French oak barrels, for natural oxygenation, for 10 to 12 months. Light filtering.
Cellaring potential: our wines are both enjoyed young or kept for a potential of 10 to 15 years depending of the vintage.
Serving: to be enjoyed at between 12 to 14 Celsius.
